LogiTerm 5.2 now available

Terminotix is proud to launch the LogiTerm 5.2 version on September 5th 2012. Here is a list of upgrades and new features:

  • When you access LogiTerm, the Search field is automatically activated.
  • The LogiTrans Fuzzy Matches tool (available in the LogiTerm toolbar in MS Word) has been improved.
  • The Document Selection window for document alignment can now be resized by dragging its corner.
  • The Module Selection box in the search interface has been enlarged.
  • A new Select All Modules button has been added to the search interface. Unlike the Search in All checkbox, this button lets you select all modules and then deselect a few — very useful when you have 300 modules and only want to choose 298!
  • The sorting of terminology results is more refined.
  • You can resize all columns of all three databases using the little handles located between columns. For more info, select Help menu (in LogiTerm)=>Main Menu=>Search Tools=>LogiTerm databases=>Customizing the Results Grid.
  • The Document and Module columns are now called Source 1 and Source 2 because you can now display different details under these columns. For more info, select Help menu (in LogiTerm)=>Main Menu=>Search Tools=>LogiTerm databases=>Customizing the Results Grid.
  • TransSearch 3 is now accessible via the TransSearch tab in LogiTerm, so are the new Grand dictionnaire terminologique and OnTerm
  • LogiTerm can now pretranslate XLIFF (.xlf) files.
  • Few “text” buttons have been converted to “image” buttons to make the LogiTerm experience more enjoyable.
  • Under the Help menu=>Main Menu, a new topic Useful Macros has been added.
  • The Edit Bitext button (displayed when you view a bitext segment in context) has been moved at the top of the page.
  • The Bitext database can now index TMX files directly without having to convert them into bitext files.
  • The Document and Module columns are now called Source 1 and Source 2 because you can now display different details under these columns. For more info, select Help menu (in LogiTerm)=>Main Menu=>Search Tools=>LogiTerm databases=>Customizing the Results Grid.
  • LogiTerm now allows TMX files to be indexed directly in the Bitext database without having to convert them to bitexts.
  • La fenêtre Correspondances floues - LogiTrans conserve ses paramètres d'affichage lorsque vous la fermez.
  • Bitexts and Full Text results are now sorted in decreasing order of date(requires full reindexing).).
  • The indexing process is faster.
  • The indices size is smaller.

LogiTerm, the perfect computer-aided translation tool, offers four useful databases in a very user-friendly interface: Terminology, Bitexts, Full Text and References (LogiTerm Web only). LogiTerm is the only tool to offer such a userfriendliness and flexibility. Skeptical? Ask your free 45-day trial version.

TransSearch 3 – Official version release

After several months in beta, the official release of TransSearch 3 is now available. This version introduces multiple new features, including source and target expression detection: TransSearch 3 highlights the most likely translations of the searched expression directly in context. It also displays detailed statistics on the identified translations.

Another great development is the improvement of user group management, which is more user-friendly and open. A user group manager can add, deactivate or delete group members and modify user information without the help of Terminotix.

TransSearch 3 also shows, in a color-coded display, which part of a search result segment is the source language.

Never heard of TransSearch? TransSearch is a bilingual concordancer available online, which offers solutions to a wide array of typical translation issues. Translators and professional writers can query multiple databases comprising over 450 million words in three languages (French, English and Spanish) to find an expression or segment. The document collections include texts from the International Labour Organization, the Canadian House of Commons and the Senate of Canada. Automated Bilingual Term Extraction

SynchroTerm can now automatically create terminology records from bitexts generated by AlignFactory. This new feature allows new records to be added daily — completely without human intervention.

Here’s how the process works: AlignFactory creates new bitexts every day at a fixed time. Once the bitexts are created, SynchroTerm automatically extracts terms and generates new terminology records. LogiTerm then indexes the new records and updates the central dictionary.
